Babies First Birthday

In the blink of an eye your baby has turned one. Where did that year go? You want to celebrate but not sure what to do? Why not book your baby in for a milestone birthday portrait? You can bring cake along too if you wish or baby can play with my wooden cake if you don’t want the mess.

Lovely little Luca came along last week to celebrate his first birthday with his mummy and daddy. They had driven from North Devon, so thought he would sleep en route. I try and work my older baby sessions around nap times, so we get a happy baby. He was awake the whole journey, so we were all a bit anxious as to how his session would go. His grandad had made the cake and they had driven a long way so we all had our fingers and toes crossed for a happy boy.

Well, I think to everyones surprise as soon as we put the cake in front of him, he sat there so nicely and slowly picked the icing off the cake. Fistfuls of icing and a smile on his face, we all took a sigh of relief and enjoyed watching Luca getting stuck in.

I think if we let him, he would have quite happily sat and made his way through most of the cake, so after half an hour or so we took the cake away and got Luca in the little bath tub. His mummy blew some bubbles in his direction, which he found hilarious and did the cutest little belly laugh. He had a few little toothy pegs coming, so of course had to make sure I got some photos of this with his smile and Mum passed him his toothbrush as he loves to chew down on this in the bath at home.

We ended the session with his bath robe on and a few little photographs of him chilling after his session. Still lots of smiles and happy to be holding the balloons. His mummy messaged me later that day to tell me he fell asleep before they had even got off my driveway.

It was such a lovely session.

You can watch it here!
